I purchased CS5 about two months ago. After installing CS5 successfully, when I tried to install Acrobat 10 Pro, the installation won't accept the serial #. By the way, the PC had Acrobat 6 Pro on it which I uninstalled before installing CS5. Acrobat 10 had an option to install it in trial mode. So in installed it in trial mode thinking it may accept the serial # once installed or I can get help from Adobe. Long story short neither option worked. So I uninstalled Acrobat 10 and then tried to re-install it. It still won't accept the serial #. Adobe Acrobat XI and X are automatically activated as soon as the. Activation is the process by which Adobe validates your software license to prevent fraud and. Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and Presenter 7 activation. Is not able to activate Presenter. Acrobat 9 Pro. And Presenter 7 activation issue « The Adobe. I cancelled the installation. In my 20 years of experience with computers I have never seen a product that didn't accept a valid serial #! However, when I tried installing it using an Acrobat 10 Pro disc that was ordered with volume licensing it accepted the serial # for Acrobat 10 that came with CS5. After installation I was able to activate it. This was a bit odd that the serial # didn't work with the disc it's meant for but it worked with a volume licensing disc. Now the problem is that every now and then a message pops up asking to activate Acrobat which is already activated. ![]() The options to activate and deactivate are disabled under Help on the main menu. It's very annoying. What's one to do? Any help is appreciated. Zafar, Interesting. Because CS5 does not ship with Acrobat X (ten). ![]() ![]() It only ships with Acrobat 9. The serial number shipped with CS5 is only for Acrobat 9. The how's, why's (along with other grumbling surrounding this will not be discussed here). ![]() I do not think your EA (CLP/TLP, etc.) agreement version of A10 is working with the A9-CS5 serial number. Hence the activation messages. In other words, because you are receiving activation messages the serial number didn't 'take'. The EA product versions have a different installer and activation logic module to meet the technical needs of the larger, enterprise customer. Because of this we are bound by tighter contractual requirements than just those contained in the EULA. For a small price break we get to have Adobe's lawyers check our shoe sizes on a regular basis.:) But, when you buy 35,000 licenses a small per-seat price break is a lot of money. So, uninstall the entire Acrobat kit and caboodle. ![]() Reinstall only what came out of the CS5 box with only the serial numbers supplied with CS5. If you wish to upgrade the Acrobat installation from 9 to 10 you are welcome to purchase an upgrade, a new serial number will be issued and you can perform that effort manually. I hope this helps. My first idea was to use remote desktop to access the computers from my machine. That worked fine, since I have local administrator access on each machine but I’d have to interrupt each user’s work, log them off, make my firewall adjustments, then tell them it’s okay to log on now assuming that I could even get into their machines remotely. The operating system must first made to recognize itself as Windows XP Professional Edition. Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) has been a feature of Windows since the XP Pro days. Here's a look at using it in Windows 10 with the Remote Desktop app. Published: November 03, 2005 Remote Desktop provides access from a remote location to a computer running the Microsoft Windows XP Professional operating system, giving you the flexibility to work on your Windows XP Professional–based computer from anywhere, at any time. Remote Desktop in Windows XP Professional is an extension of the Terminal Services functionality formerly available only in the Microsoft Windows 2000 Server family of operating systems. This chapter will help you to install, configure, and use Remote Desktop software. For information on how to obtain the Windows XP Professional Resource Kit in its entirety, please see. On This Page Overview Remote Desktop provides access to the desktop of a computer running Windows XP Professional from a computer at another location. For example, connect to your office computer from home and use all your applications, files, and network resources just as if you were actually in your office, using your office computer. Using Remote Desktop, you can run applications on a remote computer running Windows XP Professional from any other client running a Windows operating system. The applications run on the Windows XP Professional–based remote computer and only the keyboard input, mouse input, and display output data are transmitted over the network from the local computer, as shown in Figure 8-1. Figure 8-1 How Remote Desktop works Remote Desktop is based on Terminal Services technology, which is also used for Remote Assistance. For more information on Remote Assistance, see Appendix C, “Tools for Troubleshooting.” Remote Desktop Components Remote Desktop consists of the following components, which are discussed in detail in this section: • Remote Desktop Protocol • Client software • Remote Desktop Connection • Remote Desktop Web Connection Remote Desktop Protocol The Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is a presentation-layer protocol that allows a Windows-based terminal (WBT) or other Windows-based client to communicate with a Windows XP Professional–based computer. RDP works across any TCP/IP connection, including local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), dial-up, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN), digital subscriber line (DSL), or virtual private network (VPN) connections. RDP delivers to the client computer the display and input capabilities for applications running on a Windows XP Professional–based computer. When using Remote Desktop Protocol from a Windows XP Professional–based client or other RDP 5.1–enabled client, many of the client resources are available within the session, including the client drives, audio sources, serial and parallel ports, and printers. ![]() ![]() See “Resource Redirection” later in this chapter for details. In addition, the local and the remote computer share a clipboard, allowing data to be interchanged between applications running on the remote computer and applications running on the client computer. You can find additional information about the commands for using the shared clipboard in the “Using Remote Desktop Web Connection” section later in this chapter. Client Software The Windows XP Professional CD includes Remote Desktop Connection client software, which you can install on computers that are not running Windows XP Professional. You can connect using various types of client software based on the client computer’s operating system and your organizational needs. Client software is available for a wide variety of hardware devices, including personal computers and Windows-based terminals. Remote Desktop Connection The Remote Desktop Connection tool connects your computer (the client computer) to another computer running Windows XP Professional that has Remote Desktop enabled (the remote computer). These computers can be located anywhere—across the hall, across town, or across an ocean from each other—provided you have network access from the client to the remote computer, and the appropriate permissions at the remote computer. The Remote Desktop Connection tool is installed by default when you install Windows XP Professional or Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. You can also install this tool manually on a computer running Microsoft Windows 95, Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Windows Me), Microsoft Windows NT, or Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional operating system. ![]() In this tutorial, I will teach you how to make windows 7 genuine for free!! Luckily this new foil will also act as the replacement on existing Activator shavers come renewal time, essentially giving you the same shave as the new 360 Complete range from your current Activator shaver. The Braun Activator is now taking over as the successor to the much acclaimed Syncro range. The original Syncro design with its automatic clean and charge system and high performance cutters is a hard act to follow, however I feel the Activator is an excellent evolution. Generally most shavers require careful attention to detail when shaving around the neck area in order to catch all hairs. While this is still true with the Activator a new foil design offers a generous improvement. The new design is a genuine innovation and something you are surprised has only just been put to use. Instead of a foil of uniform sized holes, the Activator foil features a repeating pattern of variable shaped holes design to catch a wide range of hairs all in one stroke. The LCD is a useful tool and provides commentary on the shavers state. It offers accurate charge level status and also keeps you informed during the cleaning process. The Activator comes complete with the newer, more compact version of the Clean & Charge base unit. Although the ability to charge your shaver would seem commonplace, the cleaning facilities are far from conventional. By inserting the shaver into the stand you are given the chance to press a button and walk away. Come back in just over half an hour and the shaver is perfectly clean. When I say perfectly clean I'm not exaggerating, the cutting system will look like new!The finishing quality of the shaver is also of a high standard. The Activator shaver body is all silver and combined with the LCD display of 8595 looks very sophisticated, strong and sturdy. If you want the very best of everything available from Braun then it has to be the 8595 without question. This product has been updated and a new version is now available! Windows XP Upgrade Installations Chapter 1, 'Windows Version History,' introduced you to the various versions of Windows, past and present, and briefly mentioned the features of Windows XP. ![]() Large numbers of individuals and companies still have older versions of Windows running on their computers. And even with Windows Vista on the horizon, compared to these older versions, Windows XP still offers a user-friendly experience and security functions that go far beyond its predecessors, including Windows 2000. In Chapter 2, 'Installing Windows,' we talked about baseline Windows XP installation concepts and features as well as how to perform clean and professional installations of the XP operating system. In this chapter I cover how to perform an upgrade Windows XP installation, in which Windows XP replaces a previous Windows OS without first removing all data from the system drive and starting from scratch. An upgrade installation is most useful in cases where you have customized user settings that you want to preserve. This option, however, does not always work flawlessly, especially if you are upgrading from an operating system other than Windows 2000 Professional or Windows XP Home Edition (to XP Pro) due to the differences in the Registry structure and the startup process. Stability issues aside, if you allow Windows XP to back up the existing operating system during the upgrade you can later uninstall Windows XP and effectively revert your computer back to the state it was in immediately preceding the Windows XP upgrade. The ability to uninstall is contingent on the disk volume being FAT32 and not NTFS, that you have not created or deleted any disk volumes on the system, and that you do not delete any backup files created during the upgrade installation process. Deciding Whether an Upgrade is Worthwhile Most individuals and companies acquire Windows XP installed on a new computer. However, a large established base of existing computers running older versions of Windows is present in nearly all organizations. Although nearly everyone would like to take advantage of the new capabilities of Windows XP, upgrades are not always feasible. First and foremost, there is the significant cost of new software and its licenses. In addition, you need to take into account the following: • Many older computers lack the hardware resources required to run Windows XP. • You cannot upgrade all operating systems directly to Windows XP. • Upgrading a large number of computers on a network involves a considerable investment in time and money. • Applications running on existing computers may not be compatible with Windows XP. Available Upgrade Paths Possible upgrade paths for computers running older Windows operating systems depend on the operating system currently installed as well as the version of Windows XP you plan to install. Table 3.1 outlines the available upgrade paths. ![]() ![]() To bring Maslows need hierarchy theory of motivation in synchronization with empirical research, Clayton Alderfer redefined it in his own terms. His rework is called as ERG theory of motivation. He recategorized Maslows hierarchy of needs into three simpler and broader classes of needs: • Existence needs- These include need for basic material necessities. In short, it includes an individuals physiological and physical safety needs. • Relatedness needs- These include the aspiration individuals have for maintaining significant interpersonal relationships (be it with family, peers or superiors), getting public fame and recognition. Maslows social needs and external component of esteem needs fall under this class of need. • Growth needs- These include need for self-development and personal growth and advancement. Maslows self-actualization needs and intrinsic component of esteem needs fall under this category of need. The significance of the three classes of needs may vary for each individual. Difference between Maslow Need Hierarchy Theory and Alderfers ERG Theory ERG Theory states that at a given point of time, more than one need may be operational. ERG Theory also shows that if the fulfillment of a higher-level need is subdued, there is an increase in desire for satisfying a lower-level need. According to Maslow, an individual remains at a particular need level until that need is satisfied. While according to ERG theory, if a higher- level need aggravates, an individual may revert to increase the satisfaction of a lower- level need. ![]() ![]() ![]() 4G 4G available with a 4G device and an active Prepaid recharge or plan with Vodafone Alerts. 4G in selected cities in Australia.
